How it helps me “There are nine adults living in my house, and I’m constantly tempted by the treats they leave around. It also makes it easy to forget how much food I take in each day. Marlisa suggested I start a food journal so I can track just how much food I’m consuming. Keeping the journal helped keep me honest. Once I realized how much I was eating, I was able to put myself first and therefore cut back and make healthier choices.”

Why it works “Lorraine, like so many others, didn’t seem to realize how much she was influenced by her environment. But keeping a journal, and reading it daily, helped her recognize when she was overindulging and allowed her to get back on track. It gave her the motivation to plan healthier meals as well as snacks for times when she needs something extra.”
